For over fifteen years, the Alamo has celebrated America’s Independence Day with a day full of music, living history and fun. Take a look at some of the memories from this year’s event.
The day started with an opening ceremony and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
As in previous years, The Heart of Texas Concert Band entertained Alamo visitors with a program of patriot music including a Salute to America’s Finest and The Star-Spangled Banner.
Our 1840s school house was a hit with our younger visitors, especially recess and the chance to play games from the 1800s!
Corn husk doll making was another popular activity.
There were plenty of good photo ops throughout the day.
And when the Texas sun got too hot, we all cooled off with refreshing paleta!
Thank you everyone who joined us for Independence Day at the Alamo this year. We hope to see y’all again next year!
